Azur Doily

This doily is called "Azur".  I'm sorry, but I don't have the website where I came across it, but I'm sure it was on Picasa somewhere.  It was made with #10 thread and measures 16 inches.  I just love the combination of the pineapples and shells in the pattern.   I did change the last round from shells to something that suited me better.   Hope you enjoy it!

Valentine Doily

In my previous post I shared the "Pineapple Plus Doily" and where it came from.  Here it is all "dressed up" for Valentines Day.

My first doilies for 2012

" Peaceful Afternoon"   What a fitting name for a doily that I'm posting on a quite Sunday afternoon.  It comes from Decorative Crochet issue 69, May 1999.  It was done with #10 white thread and measures 16 inches across.  I thought the overall shape of the doily was unusual.  This is my first doily for 2012!

"Pineapple Plus Doily"  This is a sneak preview of a project that doesn't have the embellishments on it yet.  I'm currently working up red hearts to decorate it with.   I'll post the final piece when it has the hearts on it.   By the way, I have a second one finished and on the blocking board that will be embellished with shamrocks and buttons.  The pattern for all can be found in the February 2012 issue of Crochet World.  The doily measures 20 inches across and was made with #10 white thread.

Well, January 2012 is here.  In fact we are 1/5 of the way through the month!   Thought I would share a photo of the family pet.  (Disregard the human in the photo.)  Her name is Miss B.  She's six years old and a Llewellin Setter.  Llewellins are a medium size breed with origins in the English Setter.  She isn't trained for anything but being the family pet and is spoiled rotten!!

Crocheting is continuing for the new year.  Finishing up a couple of doilies started recently.  Hope to be able to post them in the week to come.  What else is planned for the year?  I really want to make several runners.  They look so pretty displayed in the home.  Maybe an afghan.......also, a couple of pretty potholders for the kitchen area.  Of course, the potholders will be for "looks" only...not your average day-to-day potholders that get used.   AND, there will always be "one more doily".  I so love doilies and am always seeing another pattern that I just have to make.

Have a great day!!
